Gerald Shoemaker is a survivor, storyteller, and devoted follower of Jesus Christ. Raised in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Gerald endured years of manipulation and abuse within a homegrown cult led by members of his own family. Today, Gerald shares his story to warn others of the dangers of spiritual abuse and to offer hope to those seeking freedom in Christ. He and his wife of more than two decades live surrounded by their children, who remain constant reminders of God’s sustaining grace and love.
